As you may know, I love wearing lots of gold accessories, like necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and also I love how stylish rings look. I love to wear at least two rings, but I can just wear more and more depending on the outfit I’m wearing that day. I think that looks amazing.
Despite that, I’ve always been curious about where I should wear them, because I know that each finger has a meaning but I have never known exactly what. Today I’m sharing with you the explanation for that. I found it so interesting!
The Engagement Ring
Let’s start with the traditions that are always followed by every western culture, which include the fourth finger of the left hand that signifies an engagement or marriage. This is for sure the only meaning I knew. Traditionally, the fourth finger of the left hand is connected to matters of the heart and if you are looking for jewellers in Brisbane, clients can view a wide range of stunning diamond engagement rings and in the event you don’t see one that strikes your fancy, the jeweller can customise based on your very own ideas.
The Wedding Ring
Traditionally worn on the same finger as the engagement ring, the wedding ring is another symbol of unity and most women will never take off their wedding ring, unless they are involved in heavy manual work.
Thumb Rings
The thumb is symbolic of a person’s willpower and it is connected with the inner self, while the preferred stones for a thumb ring are garnets and rubies. Many young people like to wear thumb rings, which have become more fashionable of late, especially with those who favor casual style dressing. For a more detailed description of why we wear rings on specific fingers, refer to informative blogs on the subject.
The Index Finger
If a person wears a ring on the index finger of either hand, it generally means the person is either looking for, or has already achieved leadership. Wearing a ring on the index finger of the right hand denotes the person has character and discretion, while wearing on the corresponding finger of the left hand signifies a desire for change. Either hand is socially acceptable and men seem to favor this finger for rings more than women. For example, sunflower rings could be a great choice!
The Pinky or Little Finger
Surely, any person who wears a ring on their little finger – either hand – is full of artistic creativity and can usually get what they want. Wearing any type of ring on your pinky finger is an outward sign of self-confidence and for many wearers, the ability to compromise is strong. If you are a well-balanced individual with strong opinions, wearing a ring on the little finger is a great way to let people know that you are someone special and definitely not to be messed with! If you are still looking for the perfect ring, by browsing online, you can view stylish and elegant items you adore and with lower than retail prices, that most precious of purchases won’t break the bank.
To be honest, I don’t really care about the meaning of each finger, because I put my rings randomly. I use to wear them on my middle finger mainly, and then sometimes where the engagement or wedding ring is supposed to go.
Where do you use to wear your rings? Did you know any of these meanings? Definitely tell me so in the comments down below and I’ll be glad to read!
