FAVORITES: JANUARY ’19

This year I decided I would be sharing my favorites each month (or at least I’ll try to). It’s something I’ve done before but not on a regular basis, and I know it’s something you really enjoy because I recommend you the things I’ve loved the most during that month, so why not doing it again.

There are some products that I use so much because I love them to death, and I would recommend them to you every single month because they’re too good, but I’ll try to show variety so you can see different products each month.

This month I’m sharing with you some things I’ve been loving and using a lot during December and January. And when I say a lot is actually a lot. Also, it’s a great time to make a short recap of what’s been going on during this month.

I don’t know if you know about the chemical burn I got in December. I shared it on my IG stories because I didn’t know what to do with my skin. I probably used an expired product or something that didn’t react well with my skin, but the result was a terrible chemical burn. The skin of my face felt like a reptile and looked so bad. Plus, I couldn’t touch my skin because if I did it would itch soooo much and it turned into a weird deep red color. I don’t recommend it to anybody and I aim you to take care of what you put on your skin.

So, because of that, I had to take special care of my skin. It was extremely sensitive and so damaged, so I looked for a non-harmful moisturizer that could help my skin balance and recover from that chemical burn.

The products that saved my skin are Aloe Vera gel from a brand called Atlantia and the facial moisturizer from Sukin. There are both products that I’ve been using for over a year and I’m constantly talking about how good they are, but because these helped my skin improve so much after that chemical burn I feel like it’s time to recommend them to you again.

After that chemical burn, I went to Norway for a week to spend the last days of 2018 and start 2019. Because of what happened with my skin a week ago and the really cold weather my skin got extremely dry (so I kept putting layers and layers of the mentioned moisturizers) and tremendous spots started to appear. I don’t know if it was the food, the water, the flight, but enormous spots started to appear on my face. I couldn’t believe it.

The solution? My beloved pink clay mask from Alya Skin. This is a product I discovered from a collaboration I had with this brand in summer, and I’ve been a huge lover of their products since then. So, I started to use their mask twice a week (as I usually do) and bye bye spots.

Another product I’ve been using non-stop and that I recommend to everybody is the Quick Hair Treatment from Löwengrip. I’m currently working with them because I believe in their products, but this one is my favorite by far (this is my most honest opinion, this is not a sponsored post by them).

Last year I dyed my hair several times and it got extremely damaged on the ends. Now I’m leaving my hair to grow long and I really don’t want to cut it because of the damaged ends, so I’ve been trying loads of different products to make my hair look better and make it softer.

When I saw they had a hair treatment I thought: Why not? So I tried it. And I’m not going to lie, this is the best hair product I have ever used. I put it on my hair after shampooing, I leave it for about three minutes and I rinse it off. My hair looks so healthy, shiny and smooth. I couldn’t be happier with it and I would definitely recommend it to you if you have damaged hair like I do.

Next thing I’ve been loving so much this month is Netflix. It’s been such a stressful month and I always looked for lunch or dinner time to have something to eat while watching a show. That was my free time. I’m currently watching Mad Men because as an Advertising and PR student I felt like I had to, and it’s pretty good (now the most exciting show ever but right now I’m watching the fifth season).

Last but not least another life-saver of mine. A chapstick. My lips are really really sensitive to the weather and because it’s cold and I’ve been traveling this month my lips hurt so much. Thankfully I got a new chapstick right before the year started and by now it is already empty. My favorite one is the lip balm from Eucerin (without parabens and perfumes), and this is the only one that stops that pain I have on my lips because of how sensitive they are.

So these are my faves from this month. These are the things I’ve used the most and I’ve loved the month during January. This month, as you can see, I haven’t done anything exciting because I’ve had so much work to do and everything has been about skincare and recovering. But, next month there’s fashion week involved so I’m sure I’ll be loving so many clothing items that I’ll include on my February favorites post!

Which have been your favorites this month? Definitely tell me so in the comments down below and I’ll be glad to read!

Love and lipstick ❤

Those products look as of good quality. I personally love the Eucerin lip balm. No parabens and it treats my lips great.

  2. Sorry to hear about your chemical burns! I’m glad you were able to find and reuse products that were able to repair and provide much-needed moisturization. I’m going to check out the moisturizer from Sukin–it looks like a great option for a soothing moisturizer during the dry winter months.
