Because of the nice weather and holidays, summer is full of great days of parties and celebrations. Even though spring would be the most common season to celebrate weddings, summer is also quite famous too. And, if you don’t know anyone who’s getting married soon, I’m sure there are many dressed up summer parties happening soon. But, what should you wear?
The most difficult thing, in my opinion, would be the colour choice. White is my go-to summer colour to wear, but there’s no way you can wear white to a wedding, but the bride. That’s why we have to look for other colours (preferably light tones) that suit our skin tone, that don’t catch a lot of heat, and that won’t show any stain if you’re sweating.
Another point to considerate would be the fabric. It is so important to look for good quality fabric, that is not see-through (since we’re looking for light shades), and that is light enough to keep you fresh. Also, it’s important to keep in mind the cut and shape of the dress, likewise knowing the location and when (morning, afternoon or evening) the celebration is going to be.
I would say that the best choice, even though it all depends on the dress code, would be a cute cocktail dress, maybe a nice pattern if a plain colour looks boring for you, or with some kind of cool fabric or embroidery. For day time celebrations I would go for pastel colours such as lavender and mint (which are really trendy this season), and for darker tones such as burgundy, navy or even black for evening celebrations.
