72H IN MADRID

As mentioned in my last post, these last days have been hectic but exciting. I just came back from Madrid, where I spent three amazing days under the burning sun.

Surprisingly, this was my first time visiting the capital. I’ve never been curious enough to go and see, but I’m so happy I finally decided to go because I had such a great time there. Even though the temperatures were crazy high and you could feel the sun burning on your skin, we managed to make the most out of those three days and visit as much as we could.

I imagined Madrid as a huge and crowded city. It was really busy, but I was impressed with how close one place from another was. Obviously, I’m comparing it to my city (Barcelona) where the main attractions are a bit more spread. But, it was nice since we could easily walk around all day visiting everything we could before it was too hot to be outside.

We woke up pretty early every morning since that was the best time of the day (talking about the temperature) to go out and walk around, so we tried to make the most out of the mornings because it was a lot nicer. Then, as it got warmer and warmer, there were two choices. First one was to go back to our room and chill until the sun was going down to go out again in the late afternoon or evening. And the second choice was to go to museums where it was nice and chilly.

So, as you can see, we managed pretty well our time there and we didn’t leave anything left to see. I’m so happy I got to visit two huge and beautiful art museums (Museo Nacional del Prado and Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza), all the famous squares, the lovely streets, the huge parks and the amazing buildings.
