WHAT TO READ THIS SUMMER

You already know that this year I’m really into reading books. I just have so much fun with novels, I feel so many things with poems, and I learn so much from empowering books regarding life and business. Due to the fact that we have a little more free time for ourselves during summer, I thought that was a great idea to share with you some of the books I read so far and which I’ve liked, and even loved.

This is not going to be a deep review of every single one of them, just a quick overview of what they are about and why I liked them. If you’re looking for further info and my opinion about them don’t forget to check out the books section of my blog where I write an exclusive review of each one of them (there are some that I still have to write the review, just be patient).

  1. The subtle art of not giving a f*ck: a counterintuitive approach to living a good life (Mark Manson)
  2. The culture code: the secrets of highly successful groups (Daniel Coyle)

These are two books that have taught me so many valuable things about life, myself and business. At first, I thought they would be pretty boring, with a lot of technical stuff and hard to read, but turns out that I had so much fun reading these. They explain you so many important things through true stories, and even with humor.

These two books are a really great read, and definitely, the ones that I recommend you the most from this whole blog post. You’re going to learn a lot, for sure.

Untitled design (1)

  1. Milk and honey (Rupi Kaur)
  2. The sun and her flowers (Rupi Kaur)

Rupi Kaur is definitely an artist. I discovered her first book at the end of last year because I always used to find her poems on many Instagram captions and Pinterest pics, and I really wanted to find out which book those were from. Once I found out I got the book and fell in love with it. The way she uses words to express feelings is unique. Then I wanted to see if her second book was as good as the first one and, to be honest, I prefer the first one without any kind of doubt.

Untitled design (2)

  1. Hot little hands (Abigail Ulman)
  2. 1984 (George Orwell)

I didn’t know how to catalog these two books because these have nothing in common. I would say that these are just stories (no poems and no teaching).

The first one, from Abigail Ulman, is a collection of stories from young girls. Not my best read ever but it was entertaining. It’s just fun to read how these women deal with their love issues, each one in her own way.

The second one, such a classic, is a book I had to read for school about two years ago (or even more) but I looved it so much and I’m definitely going to read it again this summer. I know that this book is not a discovery, but I wanted to make sure nobody forgot that such a great book exists.

These are some books I’ve read and I really liked, and I hope you too if you decide to give them a try. I’m not trying to start a book club here on my blog, but I think that it’s a way to get to know more books and share opinions if any of you have read them too. All the books are linked on the titles.

Have you read any of these? Would you recommend me a book? Definitely tell me so in the comments down below and I’ll be glad to read!

  3. I love the fact that you are sharing your favourite books, I haven’t read an interesting book in what seems like ages now, so will definitely check these out! I have been eyeing the first two books not that long ago too, so it is nice to hear that you have enjoyed them. Thanks for sharing xx

  4. 1984 is one of my favorite books ever, read it a couple years ago and it changed my life! I’m currently obssesd with Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan Novels, not sure if you read any of them. If not, 100% reccomend it! I’ve also been wanting to read “The subtle art of not giving a f*ck”, I keep seeing so many good reviews about it.
