Sales are here and we couldn’t be more excited about it. For me, the best sales of the year are the ones that are around January/February. Why? I feel like every year I find more cool items and bargains during this season. But, the fact that items are on sale doesn’t mean that we can buy everything we see, because that would be so much money.
Today I wanted to share with you some tips and tricks I use myself during sales. These are tips that have helped me focus on the items I want and save so much money, and I thought this could be of your interest too.
1.- MAKE A LIST
There are some specific items we’ve been looking for for so long. In my case, I’ve been looking for a black structured blazer and black knee-high boots for a while, so I wrote these two things on my list.
I don’t know the shop or brand I want them, but these are the items that will be my priority during these sales. This way I won’t go crazy going around and not looking for a specific item, which always leads to buying things I really don’t need.
2.- SET A BUDGET
Really important. Set a budget and stick to it. This will make you think twice if you really need to buy that blouse or those shoes. Make an approximate calculation of how much the items on your list could cost, plus a bit more for those cool bargains you could find on the way.
This, again, is going to save you so much money, and think twice about the items you’re buying.
3.- CREATE WISHLISTS
We all scroll down the new in sections from your favorite brands, so it’s so easy to choose our favorites and then, during the sale season, you’ll see all the discounted items on your wishlist. That’s so cool because you’re one of the first to know if the item you wanted is discounted.
4.- TRY IT FIRST, BUT IT ON SALE
This is something I do a lot, and which is connected to the previous tip. During the year (when it’s not sale season) I go to shops and try the clothes I like, and then I create wishlists. So, when these items go on sale I know exactly the size I am and if it fitted me right or not.
5.- BUY ONLINE, TRY AT HOME
There are items that sell out so fast, so my tips would be to get those items that say “few items left” and try them at home. This is something I’ve done before with shoes. I would get the same pair of shoes in two different sizes and then try them at home.
Of course, look for the refund policies before, so you know for sure you’ll be able to return the items that you don’t like or that doesn’t fit you.
Do you find these helpful? Do you have any other tips to buy during sales? Definitely tell me so in the comments down below and I’ll be glad to read!
