It blew my mind when I realised that this year was the 5th anniversary of the blog. Oh wow, that’s a lot of time. Right? I still remember the very first day I started blogging here on The Gold Lipstick and how excited I was about it.
I’m conscious of how much everything has changed since that very first day. Not only the structure and content has changed, but also all the external factors. When I started blogging it still was something quite new, so there was no information, guide or any kind of help on how you’re supposed to make it work, but because I love it so much I pushed myself and worked hard to get where I wanted to be. Thanks to all this journey I’ve had the chance to work with many brands I never thought I ever would. I’ve been invited to amazing events where I’ve met great people that I’m still in touch with. I’ve learned loads about the fashion, advertising, PR, marketing and communications industry, and I’ve even loved it so much that I decided to start a degree in advertising and PR. Thanks to all of this I’ve learned and grown so much as a person and as a professional.
I’ll never be able to express how grateful I am for all of this. First of all, I’m genuinely proud of myself for working so hard and achieving all the goals I set, and for getting this far. But, I also really have to be thankful to all of you who read and engage with my posts every single week. It’s always so nice when I receive lovely comments from you reacting to my posts, and believe me when I say that I know those of you who have been here for a long while. Also, let’s not forget to thank all the lovely brands that have worked with me from the very beginning. When I started, collaborations weren’t really a thing (I didn’t even know that would ever exist), but some small brands trusted me to create content for them, and then it kept growing until today, when I get to work with really well-known brands, as well as small brands that I always love to support.
The most frequently asked question is: Where do you see your blog in 5 years? Today I realise how far I’ve gone in five years, so imagine 5 more. I can see my blog bigger, stronger and more professional, since I’ll keep working hard every day to improve as much as I can and turn it into my full-time job in the near future. Also, I would like to create more content (articles and photography) for brands but not that much blog-related, but as freelance work. And, why not, having my own little brand? Who knows.
Again, thank you all so much for all this time and I just want to tell you I can’t see myself doing anything else but blogging, so there’s no way I’ll give up anytime soon.
