Looks like the world is slowly going back to “normal mode” (when it comes to the global pandemic) and many people are going back to their offices, so they have to dress up and go out. Working while being comfortable and wearing loungewear, or just dressing up the upper part of your body is not a choice anymore, and the worst part is that summer is approaching, and higher temperatures too.

Today I wanted to share a bit of fashion inspiration and ideas of which are the basic pieces you should have in your wardrobe to look put together while being comfortable and not dying because of the heat.

There are some pieces that I consider must-haves or really good choices to wear during summer, being comfy, and still looking put together. Having a few of these will help you get ready faster in the morning, and these are all pieces which you can easily dress up or down depending on how formal you have to be or the occasion:

White button-down shirt: This is the number one must-have piece we all should have. It looks great with all your other clothing items and you look put together with barely any effort.

Blazer dress: A favourite of mine. A blazer dress is a perfect option to look put together because of the structured cut but being comfortable and feeling summery.

Linen pieces: The best fabric there is for the spring and summer season. Light and comfortable. There are many clothing items made out of this fabric, so you could look for a nice linen shirt or even some nice linen trousers.

Midi skirts: Really trendy this season, appropriate for work, and perfect for the summery weather.

Sleeveless blazer: Vests are another trend of the season, and a sleeveless blazer is a pretty similar one. Again, it makes you look put together because of the structured cut but sleeveless to not die from the heat of summer.

Loose and light trousers: Wide leg, palazzo or straight pants in a light fabric and nice pattern.

Shirtdress: Other than the blazer dress, this is another favourite of mine. It’s a really basic clothing item and it’s really easy to style up and down.

White basic trainers: It all depends on the dress code or the type of job you have, but having a pair of white basic trainers is a great choice to be comfy and they match perfectly with all the clothing items mentioned above.

Basic sandals: I would say strappy sandals with a low heel and in a nice basic colour (such as brown or black) are a perfect option, but I would also encourage you to choose a pastel shade and add a pop of colour to your outfit.

What did I wear?

First of all, I want to say that this is the very first outfit I shot in the street after two months quarantining at home, and it felt like I didn’t know how to pose or what to do anymore. Once that being said, this is an example of an outfit I would wear to work during spring/summer in sunny Barcelona.

It all starts with a basic buttondown shirt (as previously mentioned as a must-have piece), paired with these really comfortable trousers which have pearl embellishments at the very bottom. Then, I decided to wear these really simple black sandals (another must-have piece) and a summery but useful bag so I can carry all the things I need for the day. Then, as usual, I added gold jewellery to look more put together and finish the look.

These are all really easy and comfortable pieces that could be easily worn with other clothing items and look great with barely any effort. The key is to add nice details and accessories to add a bit of an interesting point to your outfit and make it stand out.

I hope this all gets back to normal and people go back to their usual work. I’ve heard about so many people losing their jobs during the pandemic, but all I can say is that this is just a bump on the way and that better times will come soon. As I always say, work hard to get what you want, and it eventually will come to you. It’s all about being in the right place at the right time and, of course, always being ready for it.

Are you working from home? What would you wear? Definitely tell me so in the comments down below and I’ll be glad to read!
