I wouldn’t describe myself as a book addict, but when I find a good book I can’t let it go until I finish it. Unfortunately, that doesn’t happen as usually as I would like to, but that pushes me to keep looking for great books.
Today I wanted to share with you the best boots I’ve read so far. It’s a bit of everything I like to read: poetry, novels, and motivational books. These are all books that I wouldn’t mind to read again, because I actually did. No matter if you know the end of the story, it is such a great book anyway.
So, I’ll name every book and explain a bit about what it’s about. Not much because that is something you must find out by yourself. And, last but not least, the reason why I loved it so much.
The subtle art of not giving a f*ck – Mark Manson
This book changed my life in some way. It made me change my mindset and I’m so happy I read it. It was so much fun to read because of the irony of the writer and all the interesting stories and facts he explains. Also, really informative and deep. I had to read it with a marker in hand because of how many beautiful quotes I found. Actually, as soon as I have time I’ll read it again.
The Great Gatsby – F. Scott Fitzgerald
My beloved novel by Fitzgerald. I don’t even know how many times I’ve seen the movie. Probably more than a thousand times. I think the movie is pure art because of the scenery, the way it is explained, the beautiful and deep music… Everything is perfection. So, I had to read the book and I fell in love with it too. Every single world is so beautiful and I love the way it is written.
Milk and Honey – Rupi Kaur
I’ve never read a book that has made me feel so many deep feelings like this one. I felt like Rupi Kaur was writing what I had in my mind and could never express with words. This poetry book is a true work of art and definitely breathtaking. I had to take my time to read each poem because every single one of them is so beautiful and deep, that I had to read carefully and re-read again because of how much I loved it.
1984 – George Orwell
I read this book years ago but I loved it so much I want to read it again this year. I really like the concept of the story and I really liked the way it was written. I find it so original and forward-looking. I was really impressed and I would definitely recommend it.
Wuthering Heights – Emily Brontë
I read it in quite an old Spanish version which made it slower to read but definitely added greater value to the novel. The story is extremely beautiful and I adore the way it is written. It explains really well that era and everything looks so majestic. Honestly, I love several of Brontë sisters’ books.
The Alchemist – Paulo Coelho
Every time I wrote about books here on the blog and asked for recommendations so many of you told me to give The Alchemist a try. Last year I got it for my boyfriend as a little gift and so I had the chance to read it too. I think it’s such an easy and quick book to read, but you can get so much from it if you want to. Such a simple story with a great background that makes you think so much and it’s really inspiring. Huge recommendation of mine.
Books pending to read next:
I do have some books here in my room waiting to be read. Who knows, maybe I give them a try in the upcoming weeks since reading will be one of my main activities.
The picture of Dorian Gray – Oscar Wilde
I’m halfway and I really like it so far. I thought it is a classic that must be read and this was the perfect time to finally do it. It is a really easy book to read and it’s quite entertaining too.
A gentleman in Moscow – Amor Towles
From the same author as Rules of Civility. This will probably be the book I try to read next.
Fashion in film – Christopher Laverty
My boyfriend got me this beautiful coffee table book for Christmas and I’ve been slowly reading bits of it. I love all the beautiful pictures in it, how it is structures, and all the interesting facts in it.
So these have been all the book recommendations I can share with you so far and the little list I have about the books I’m currently reading or wanting to read next.
Have you read any of these? Do you recommend me any book? Definitely tell me so in the comments down below and I’ll be glad to read.
