BLOGGING DURING TIMES OF QUARANTINE

Quarantine has definitely changed tha game for all of us. I was already used to working from home since the majority of work I do is on the laptop, but when it comes to content creation and sources of inspiration I spend so much time outside wandering around.

The fact of not being able to take any more pictures outside, and especially now that the spring weather is lovely here in Barcelona, and having to take all of them from home has been a sudden change any of us expected. I did create some content at home before but it was just a couple photos per month maximum.

With all this time spend inside so far, I have to say I got to the point where I feel that I nail every single shot in so little time. I think that “at-home” photos have to look pretty effortless but I tried too hard to make it look homely that it used to take me ages and it didn’t even look like I wanted to. But, after this much time and practise, I have perfected my technique and I love shooting from home.

Honestly? I miss shooting outside and wandering around, but the fact of not being in a rush and shooting whenever I want from home is amazing. I have to say that from now one, even though we’re not quarantined anymore, there’s going to be a lot of home made content because I’ve fallen in love with it.

Other than that, what I do deeply miss so bad is to get inspiration from everywhere. I always say that Pinterest is a great source of inspiration for me and it’s really handy since I can organise it all in boards which makes my work a lot easier, but I do miss all the inputs I get from everywhere when I’m out for a coffee and a chat with my friends, for a walk with my partner, reading in my favourite city spot, etc. I do feel like the lack of inputs has really affected me when it some to creativity and new ideas about topics to write about, so that’s what I’m looking forward to the most.

What has changed for you during quarantine? What do you miss the most? Definitely tell me so in the comments down below and I’ll be glad to read!

Love and lipstick ❤

  1. These at home shots you captured here are stunning! Shooting at home is definitely tough. I live in a very unaesthetic apartment which makes it really difficult to capture images inside… I miss shooting outside too! I hope you are hanging in there ❤

Aww thank you! I find it though at the beginning since I thought it would look like same locations over and over again, but with time and practise I’ve managed to create different locations and scenarios to shoot!
If you live in an unaesthetic apartment definitely give a try to the currently famous “hanging bedsheet” to create a white background and do your own at-home photo studio!

  2. I miss going out there and being able to produce content for the blog. I’m handling it pretty well (the blogging part, my life totally no haha) but I had some ideas for this year that I’m clearly not going to be able to make it

Oh girl, I’m sure you’ll make it! Just think you’re not going through quarantine alone but the whole entire globe. Hard times help us improve and learn, so you should take this experience as a learning lesson and continue working on your passion and keeping up with the people you love.
And yes, not the best that we all had to cancel plans (I had to completely forget about a trip I had already paid and was super excited about) but all I can think of is continue doing my thing until everything is better and I’m able to fly!

Thank you so much! Yes, now I feel like I’m used to this new reality and I’m so happy about it. But not being able to see your friends face to face is something I really miss!

  7. I miss the influence of trawling through the shops to find new fashion styles, makeup trends or new launches to talk about! Though I’m really appreciating how it’s teaching you to love what you own (or it is for me, as I’m not an online shopper- haha!)

Yes, the lack of inputs definitely affected creativity and finding new things to talk about, but it’s true that this way we get to appreciate more what we have!

  8. I can totally understand! It’s the same with me here in L.A.!
But I also think when we are restricted is when creativity really thrives.
